ACAP = RESULTS!

Success Story "Attending a Fort Monmouth ACAP Workshop gave me the self-confidence to Interview and present myself in a professional manner, as well as the tools to write a Résumé that translated my military experience into civilian terms. After attending a Fort Monmouth Job Fair I was offered and accepted a position with a local company, where my military experience was considered a big plus!"              Marvin E-7

Success Story"The things that helped me the most was a supportive Supervisor/Chain of Command and the mentorship I received from the ACAP Staff. They really kept me encouraged while on the emotional roller coaster job search. The Counselors have great insights into the civilian Human Resource field and gave enormous help on both my cover letters and résumé. They taught me to methodically keep working my job sources and research step by step. I was offered and accepted a position as Director Of Human Resources of a major company in NY state."         George O-5

Success Story"The group liked the fact I had 4 years experience as a medical assistant in the Army. I was hired over people with a medical assistant license because of my experience in the field. The resume/interview experience from ACAP helped me put together a great resume to get me in for an interview." Aimee E-4

Success Story"After leaving the service, I tried doing the job search my own way. I found out, all too soon, that my way was not productive. When I buckled down and started using the methods ACAP had taught me, opportunities started to become available. Through my network, I acquired a teaching position (5 years), followed by a government contractor position (4 years). By utilizing ACAP resume strategies, I was able to obtain my current position in civil service (GS-13).  ACAP has made the difference in my life. Thanks ACAP!         John O-3

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for the wonderful support you provided me during my ACAP briefing.  I know that you give this briefing so many times a year and you probably think that we sit there just to meet a requirement.  Well Sir, I want to tell you-- that is exactly what I thought too.  I figured after 20 years in the Army there was no way someone could tell me anything about getting a job. Then you asked a magic question, “will you be in the 80 percent or the 20?” I took your advice and started really listening to you, and asking questions myself.  Your help on my Resume was one of the main reasons I was able to find a great new job after the Army.  I can not relay to you the weight that comes off of your shoulders once you know that the next phase it taken care of.  Thank you so much.  You really took the time and gave me the tools I needed to seriously search for a job. You are one in a million. Ken, E-7

Greetings to all, I have a new job!!!!  Yes, I have become a "civilian" once again.  An email was sent out to the staff at the academy announcing my arrival as a new employee. I am looking forward to this new challenge in my life.  I am very excited about this and just wanted to share it with my best friends and family. Thank you so very much for the time you spent with me in doing my resume.  The academy received 60 resumes for this job and then they narrowed it down to (6) people to interview.  One of the reasons I was selected was because of the awesome resume that YOU did.  I just want you to know that I appreciated your time and support and that all of it paid off for me.....you should be so honored!   Diane, E-8

I just wanted to thank you for all of the help and guidance that you provided me during my transition to retirement. I just received a job offer from the first company that I interviewed with and I do not believe that it would have happened without the outstanding presentation that you gave at the Carlisle Barracks TAP seminar. I would also like to express my appreciation for the follow up advice that you gave me referencing the format of my interview process. The insight that you provided helped me to properly prepare and as the interview unfolded as you had predicted, I was able to present myself with the confidence that I am sure that they were looking for in a new leader within their organization. Ryan, E-6

I just wanted to let you know that I accepted a job this morning.  I will be working as a Regional Sales Manager focusing on Europe and the Mideast . Thanks for the excellent advice that you provided at ACAP in December, and for your help in re-working my resume. I look forward to this next stage in my life.  The ACAP program definitely helped me in my transition. Mitch, O-4

I got the Job at the Naval Weapon Station and I start on the 22 Feb 05 as GS-06 (Step 10). WOW!! They said that I had superior qualifications according to the way you showed me to write my resume. Thanks a million. By the way, My future is so secure now, that I am even doing the closing on a beautiful house for sale in the Monmouth County priced at $290,000. Thanks again for all your mentorship and thank you for deciding to help the military community at Ft. Monmouth . Juan, E-6

Thank you for all your help with my resume and during ACAP. I strongly believe that it was my resume that got me a contractor position. I applied and they continued to offer me positions in Iraq. I thankfully declined those positions and asked to be kept in mind for state-side positions. They called, did a phone interview and offered me a position within the same day. Rosemary, E-5

Thanks for everything... we leave for our new home this month and I start to work next month as a government contractor. I'm looking forward to the new life and just wanted to take this time to give a thanks to all the folks at ACAP. Your guidance was key in me making a successful transition to the civilian work force. Leslie, E-9
