There
is an attractive force. In its ultimate manifestation, it is the point of
unity from which all things come. There is a place where everything is gathered
into a single point for a single splendid moment in time, then a new cycle
begins. At that moment, everything begins to expand out, into a brand new
universe..the beginning of a new cycle. If we were to symbolize this point,
this beginning, we might do so with a single dot. Like this . In fact, the
Arabs used just such a dot to represent zero. Zero is the beginning...you
will later find that zero is also the end..when we get to 10. There is a sphere
of influence around this point. This is its attractive force. That attractive
force surrounding the center point can be represented very easily using a
circle. Like so: 0
Proceeding from this greatest compaction of all that is, come the smallest
of its particles. Energy, light, the motive force. Its path is straight, its
direction of travel, outward. It could, perhaps, be symbolized by a straight
line. Arrow straight like rays of light, we might use something like this:
| Or maybe it could be a
bit more like an arrow, to show direction. Something like this: 1
(although it lost half of its arrowhead and it's missing a few feathers.)
And WHAT, you might ask, would happen should this light fall into the circle
of influence of that attractive force...zero? Might it, perhaps, appear to
be moving straight, then suddenly change course and begin spinning around
that point of attraction? Sort of like this: 2
A straight line (at the bottom) which suddenly veers off course and begins
to rotate around a point. So 2 is an electron
rotating around the nucleus of an atom. In astrology, 2
is Taurus...the house and sign of material things. There is a direct correlation
between the behavior of your average Taurean and the behavior of that atom.
They both like to sit still until something they want comes along, then they
somehow get it to come to them.
So there you have this poor energy entity, this light beam or whatever (1),
doing circles around this attractive force (0), and that makes matter (2).
What happens when matter combines? Perhaps TWO atoms? Molecules? something
like two of those curved paths, bonded to one another? Something like..3?
The creative force. The experiment of combination...the creation of NEW combinations.
(Did someone say Gemini?) Sometimes the three is drawn with a flat top. Does
anyone see our friend the light particle up there? Getting pulled into this
crazy dance? Well I do...and I'm not completely sure that this weird 3 thing
isn't an activity for mature audiences only...but then again...we're talking
about the Gemini spirit here, perhaps its a "getting there" thing.
We next arrive at 4. This is the beginning of
LIFE. Here you'll want to look at the symbol for Jupiter, which basically
looks like a 4...but not this closed sort of
four. No it looks more like this : 2| It's matter
(2) with light (1) added. That fits plants rather nicely, doesn't it? Matter
taking in light.
There are more, to be sure...but it's getting late here. I'll fill you in
on 5 through 9 next. (There's a reason that 6 and 9 look so much alike, you
know. One spirals inward, the other spirals outward.) Check in for revisions,
because I'll just be editing this post as time allows.
