Role-Playing Games
I've got all the trap's fella's! - Famous Last Words
I first started playing RPG's (Role-Playing Games) over twenty years ago now. Dungeon's and Dragon's (D&D) was the first game I played, followed a short time later by it's big brother Advanced Dungeon's and Dragon's (AD&D). AD&D's much greater depth really lets your imagination soar.
In the many role-playing groups I have been in, we have tried a great many different type's of RPG games, the ones I can remember are D&D, AD&D, Car Wars, Rifts, Star Trek RPG, Tunnels and Trolls ("He who has the most dice wins"), Champions, plus many more I can't think of at the moment.

Dungeon's & Dragon's
A Fanasty Adventure Game
One of the first fanasty role-playing games released. I still have a copy of the Basic and Expert handbook's, dating back to 1981. This game introduced the world to many different dice shapes, the d4, d8, d10, d12, and the d20. These dice allowed a greater range of random numbers to be generated, on the fly (without electronic help). The only characters available then were the Cleric, Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, Fighter, Magic-User and the Thief.

A Fanasty Adventure Game
AD&D is by far my favourite RPG, and is the one I have spent the most time playing. While I have DM'ed (Dungeon Mastered) some of our games, it is as a player that I most enjoyed myself. I liked getting into the head of my character, playing him or her as a real person as opposed to just a collection of stats.
My Favourite Character
My favourite AD&D character would have to Thorin, my dwarven fighter / cleric of Celestian, but alas I can now only find a old back-up copy of his character sheet.
My Favourite Evil Character
My favourite evil character would have to Essees, a chaotic evil Drow cleric of Lolth. I created her for a campaign I started running, as an ongoing thorn in the PC's sides. A role she was playing to perfection.
Other Characters
Some of my other AD&D's characters that I have played.
      - Thud the Barbarian,     — Dragonlance Kagonesti elf fighter, 2nd Level.
      - Eorl Marhwini,             — Forgotten Realms wood elf ranger, 6th Level.
      - Aberl,                        — Forgotten Realms wood elf ranger, 5th Level.
      - Tri Seer,                    — Forgotten Realms Human ranger, 3th Level.
      - Dalkar,                       — Forgotten Realms Dwarven fighter [Vindicator Kit], 3th Level.
      - Silveren Eleelon,          — Forgotten Realms elven ranger, 13th Level.
Magic Items
I created a few magic items to add some extra spice to the PC's life. Some are based on standard items with a little tweaking.
      - Skywalker; a Chaotic Good intelligent long sword +2
      - Issek's Belt of Stone Giant Strength

Car Wars
A Futurist Car Combat Game
Is road rage getting to you? Try this!!! The story goes like this … “it started as entertainment, now it effects the entire world. Tired of always being beaten at the Demolition Derby, one guy strapped a machine gun on his car, and the rest is history. Now if you are cut off, you give them both barrels.”
In Car Wars you design a vehicle, equipping it with armour, weapons and ammo, then enter the arena or take to the open road, to see if your design will be the best that day.
Survive and you can salvage all the other cars and upgrade yours to fight again.

Rifts
A Futurist Adventure Game
A nuclear holocaust ignited ley lines (magical conduits) to decimate the world as we know it now, leaving at the ley line intersections, giant rifts (tears in the fabric of space and time). The world that is left is a hell on earth, where the survivors do anything to survive. Human augmentation is now widespread, not only with artificial implants and chemicals but also with genetic mutation.
There are five basic groups of characters, Men at Arms, Scholars and Adventurers, Practitioners of Magic, Dragons, and Psychic's. These cover every type of human augmentation you can think of with cyborgs, characters with rewired brains, thugs in powered armour, super-drug users and psionic mutants.

Star Trek RPG
A Star Trek-based Adventure Game
You take on the role of one of the bridge crew of a federation starship, doing your own missions.
The Vulcan character class over-powers all comers, and as is, it is very hard to role-play the logical mind, which counterbalances it's strengths.

Tunnels and Trolls
A Fanasty Adventure Game
Similar to the original D&D, but all die rolls based on six-sided dice rolls, featuring such great spells such as zap, freeze and magic missile.
Our campaign was based in a maze, within which was a shop giving the PC's the chance to buy extra magic damage for their weapons.
Our DM in an effort to limit abuse, stated that we could only increase the damage of our weapons to the number of dice we actually had, so a weapon doing 4 x d6 damage would need 4 dice to be rolled at once. This lead to a arms race in dice, which ended that game. Higher damage recorded by a weapon was 396 x d6 damage, needless to say nothing lasted more than one hit.

Champions
A Super Hero Adventure Game
You create your own super hero complete with your own choice of super powers. But to pay for each advantage you must take a equal disadvantage, such being hunted by another super villain or group, or being only able to use a super power at a certain time (daylight, night time, etc.). The more of a disadvantage it is the more it's worth, and the more likely it is to come into play, such as having your specific baddies turn up when you are in action.
